Explore our exquisite collection of handmade electric guitars. All our guitars are custom built by Isle of Skye guitar builder Stuart Mackinnon who grew up in Elgol on the Isle of Skye. We offer a range of guitar shapes, styles and finishes. Your bespoke guitar is available with your choice of pickups and hardware.

Whisky (whiskey) Barrel Guitars:

For whisky (whiskey) lovers I craft fully customisable guitars from up-cycled oak whisky barrels. If you have a favourite whisky brand we can source whisky barrel staves from that distillery.

I select the finest oak barrel staves before steaming and straightening them and removing the exterior charring which leaves a beautiful oak steeped in history (as well as fine whisky!). From there the oak is dried, assembled and shaped into your dream guitar. This is a slow and lengthy process but the end result is a forever guitar with many years, making a great talking point, display piece and – most importantly – a great sounding and playing custom built instrument.
